CREST

The Charleswood Refugee Ecumenical Sponsorship Team (CREST) has been around for 23 years, and is made up of three Charleswood churches - Gloria Dei Lutheran, Charleswood United and Charleswood Mennonite. Funds raised go towards sponsoring a family for one year. CREST works at helping newcomer-families with housing, providing furnishings and clothing, applying for government programs, getting them into ESL classes and dealing with rent, utilities, home maintenance, etc. - this work is shared among CREST members. Ongoing support often continues after the first year commitment.
